Easter 2014 163 copyShane Hart, Lead Pastor

Adopted at birth, Shane had to deal early in life with the issues of rejection and anger toward a biological father who abandoned him and a biological mother who gave him away. Raised in church by a loving couple who adopted him, he found the love and acceptance of Christ and encountered that full reality as a teenager.

Shane was called into the ministry at a youth rally at the age of fifteen and has never turned back. After high school, he moved to Arizona to attend Master’s Commission at Phoenix First Assembly of God. From there, Shane continued his ministerial studies through Global University School of the Bible. He served as youth pastor in the Bronx, New York; Alton, Illinois; and Youngstown, Ohio as well as working in inner-city ministry in Louisville, Kentucky.

After 12 years in youth ministry, Shane transitioned into the role of a lead pastor. He served in Steubenville, Ohio before moving to Capital City Church in 2008. He met his wife, Elena at a youth workers’ conference in Kentucky. They married in September of 1995 and have been partners in ministry ever since.

Shane and Elena have two wonderful daughters who are constant reminders of the love and grace of God: Kiersten and Breanna.

Priscilla Coffey,

CapCity Kidz Director

Priscilla was born into a southern Christian family and grew up in the heat and humidity of Central Florida. A homeschool kid, she left the comfort and heat of home to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Children’s Ministry at the University of Valley Forge, in the lovely east Pennsylvania weather. From there she went on to earn her Master’s in Theatre from Regent University. After spending almost four years on staff at a church in West PA as the children’s pastor, God called her to move further west into the Central Ohio area. Though she misses the Florida sunshine dearly, she is enjoying the depth of community and breadth of life here in Columbus.

She is a theatre geek, video game binging, bookworm, coffee snob, sushi loving, kid at heart and extremely excited to be a part of the Capital City Church team.
